The Loch Ness Monster
Loch Ness monster is located in the North of Scotland and is one of a series of interlinked lochs which run along the Great Glen. The Great Glen is a distinctive incision which runs across the country and represents a large geological fault zone. The interlinking was completed in the 19th century following the completion of the Caledonian Canal. For many years it has been supposed that there is a large dinosaur-like "monster" resident in Loch Ness. The evidence for its existence are a series of sightings of a plesiosaur-like dinosaur throughout the last 100 years. The case has occasionally been supported by indistinct photographic evidence. If I have the cahnce, I will find the Loch Ness monster by myself!
Animator Miyazaki’s new film hits screens in Japan

Miyazaki is one of Japan’s biggest cultural exports. His last film, “Howl's Moving Castle,” broke opening box office records at home in 2004 before winning a cult following in Western and Asian nations. Asked what animation he is considering next, Miyazaki only said: “I will soon turn 70. I’m now telling myself that I should not talk about things in the future.” I hope that he will continue to make a lot of films and he is very young, so he can make much more people. I love watching animation very much. Perhaps watching cartoons makes me avoid this real world temporarily.
Unconsciousness & Coma
Unconsciousness, more appropriately referred to as loss of consciousness or lack of consciousness, is a dramatic alteration of mental state that involves complete or near-complete lack of responsiveness to people and other environmental stimuli. Being in a comatose state or coma is an illustration of unconsciousness. Fainting due to a drop in blood pressure and a decrease of the oxygen supply to the brain is an illustration of a temporary loss of consciousness.
In medicine, a coma is a profound state of unconsciousness. A comatose person cannot be awakened, fails to respond normally to pain or light, does not have sleep-wake cycles, and does not take voluntary actions.
One day, my roomate got up suddenly and she didn't wake up at all. Wasn't she under the unconsciousness, so she still had the daydream, wasn't she? I hope she can sleep well and don't sit up straight abruptly.

We have only one Earth.

Following the trend of eco-conscious, the automakers also go green. Also, we can see many bicycle's company which increase their outstanding accomplishment gradually such as Giant. I saw a TV program showing their working history and I realized why a traditional industry can be the leading brand in the world. I want to be the one of them. I mean if I become a CEO, I will do my best to make my company stand on the top of the world. Energy saving and carbon reduction is the most important issue that we must do it as fast as possible. After all, the Earth is only one!

UFO?!

"UnidentifiedFlyingObjects " What? Is it a plate or a frisbee? Ha...Unfortunately, we have no evidence to prove this phenomenon. Therefore, we don't know where these pictures come from. Now they probably come from photographic technology and it's really fantastic. Even the specialist can't recognize which one is true or false. I'm very intereted in this kind of issue because I know no one can explain it. Some people think UFO is just the light refraction and others think UFO comes it means something will happen, disaters or Judgment Day. That sounds funny! In the future, perhaps when the earth dies out, the truth will appear.
My new resolution for the New Year~
Last year I missed many chances for my future. It's a pity you know. I want my life to be more colorful. I understand that I have many chances to do it better, so this time I need to make some wishes to make my dream come true. First, I want to find a good job to overcome my family's economic pressure. No matter this year is bad or good, I know I can do it. I must trust myself although this year is during the great depression. Second, I want to surpass my limit, so I will take many exams. This is very important thing to me because I know I have to go through these processes to survive. This society is cruel and I will prepare myself to face the future. Finally, I decide to train my language skills to be a new English teacher in the cram school. However, I don't know what will happen next but I just need courage to complete my resolution. Go ahead...Let's fight it!!!

More than friends...
Sometimes I feel upset because I always think too much. I know some things are not what I think about. When a friend smiles, I might think he or she wants to do a trick to me. I can't regard this as a common emotional expression. It's very obvious that I probably fall in love, or it's all my imagination. I'm not a independant person. In the meanwhile, I also desire someone who needs me. It's a wonderful feeling. I can't explain what the reason is. Perhaps it's an illusion again. If yes, Ok, you got me. This time I don't want to hide my true feeling and I will let you know I'm very serious!

Celluloid Closet Questions
1.
I recommend Jet Li to be my representative. In Hollywood, Jet Li succeeds in playing a Kung Fu fighter. The success of Asian kung fu stars in America works against Asian American actors and filmmakers by perpetuating a single, limited image of Asians in the minds of audiences and Hollywood decisionmakers. I know many foreigners want to visit Taiwan and some of their reasons are learning Kung Fu. Foreigners consider that Taiwan has great fighters who can teach them Kung Fu. In the recent years, there are increasingly films are about Kung Fu, such as Kiss of the Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, The Forbidden Kingdom, Mulan and so on. It's a positive stereotype.
I've heard of someone told me that one time when he was in a lobby, he saw a man(Chinese) who wore a night-robe hanging around the lobby. What a shame! How dare he was so shameless? It makes me feel embarrassed that I'm a Chinese, too. I have a friend who comes from New York she said that when she arrived in Taiwan, she saw some people chew a mysterious thing which makes people threw up blood! How scary scene it was and disgusting. I don't know how to expain that it's just like Chinese gum. One day, when I turned up TV, there was a talk show about Chinese traditional food. Could you guess what I saw on TV? Yes, I saw one guy was eating and spitting! Gosh! Didn't he care about he was interviewed at that time? It's too much to say that Chinese have many bad habits. It almost becomes a representitive impression about Chinese people. It's a negative one.
2.
I've seen the movie"Kill Bill", and in this movie the enemy is Japanese. When we talk about Japan, the Ninja will appear. It's all our impression about Japan. So, it's a kind of stereotype. There are still other examples such as "The Ring" about mysterious spirits, "Godzilla" about a horrible monster and so on. These are Japanese which are shot by the Hollywood. They are relative to Japan traditional impression to people.

If I ask 100 people, they will give me the same answer - men kiss men, so they are couples, aren't they? It's obvious men are usually not sensitive creatures and they won't show their emotion with a very intimate action, just like women. People believe that if males are good friends, they don't show their friendship by this sick action. At most males usually hit friend's back or bottom. Friendship doesn't need such intimate action. However, we can see females kiss each other or lead their hands each other. Is it curious that why males can't do the same action? I think between two females have a feeling like adoration or a kind of friendship. They want to show their special friendship. They just think why they can lead their hands with boyfriends, but why not friends? Not only love but also friendship, females can do those things.
Therefore, no matter you're straight or lesbian, you can kiss each other. On the contrary, males do those things and they are probably considered a gay right away. That is to say lesbians are the covert gender but gays are dominant relationship.

Assignment - Gay rights
1.
Of course, parents in Taiwan don't want to face this kind of frustrated truth. According to Chinese traditional custom, people just want their children, boys will become a father and girls become a mother. That is the normal situation in the world. In Taiwan, there is only Man can be the inheritor from their fathers or ancestor. It involves sexual discrimination. Let's talk about parents' mind. I know most of parents want their children to grow up normally. Parents usually ask their sons "Do you have any girlfriends?" and this would be the very serious problem. Why do boys have to love girls? Those children choose to not talk to their parents about the gender problem because they are afraid of being blamed by their parents. So, the best way is to hide the secret. It's really difficult to hear from someone tell parents that " I'm a gay or a lesbian." This situation still exsists now and it becomes a famous issue in Taiwan. The government notice this problem gets worse and worse. Why should parents react when their children tell them the trth? I have heard from many parents that if their children become gays or lebians, they won't their children come into the house. On the one hand, parents love their children, so they can't accept "abnormal" children. On the other hand, I can't say parents overprotect their children is wrong. All I can say is if this society doesn't give much pressure to "these people", perhaps parents will understand loving people is no matter which gender you are.

In 2003, the executive branch of the Republic of China government (Executive Yuan) proposed legislation granting marriages to same-sex couples under the Human Rights Basic Law; however, it faced opposition among cabinet members and legislators, and has been stalled since and thus not voted on. Currently, Taiwan does not have any form of same-sex unions.
A poll of 6,439 Taiwanese adults released in April 2006 by the National Union of Taiwan Women's Association/Constitutional Reform Alliance concluded that 75% believe homosexual relations are acceptable, while 25% thought they were unacceptable.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage_in_Taiwan )

Today, there are no laws against homosexuality. However, there are still some people think it's unacceptable. Well, what should I say? It's all about the freedom and it must be fair to everyone.
Why can heterosexualityhave their marriage? Why same sex marriage can't? It's apparent that it's not fair, isn't it? If all people want a fair human right, same sex marriage in democratic Taiwan should be done. I think it's ironic to the religion because Christian says we are brothers and sisters, that is to say we are the same to God. Nevertheless, Christian hates homosexuality. There must be something unreasonalbe doctrines between true love and morality. Although some people can't accept this, it's still a trend in the world. Same sex marriage will legalize in Taiwan.

Gays and Lesbians are all human. Perhaps you can't accept their activities but you can't deny it that it's all about different love. Love is always there and love isn't guilty. You can regard it as an art in the world. Don't blame them and they just want a perfect love peacefully.
Homework - Harvey Milk
In my opinion, Harvey Milk is a brave man that he was the first one who wanted to give gay people support. People always regard Gay as a guilt but Harvey think everyone should have their basic human rights, why not gay? I believe there were a lot of people didn't face this situation because it's not natural. He was a gay, but he hadn't taken this as a shame. He even came out of the closet and claimed his suggestion to gay people. It's obvious that from this video he devoted himself to giving his knowledge to gay people. That's a way to solve this embarrassing issue and he knew there were a lot of gay people who were afraid of facing it. In this documentary, his friends all love him so much. That is to say Harvey was really a kind person, but how could Dan White kill him so firmly? Did Harvey owe his money to Dan White? No way! No wonder after Harvey died, there were huge crowds of people walked on the street to mourn for him. To me, his most impressive sentence is "If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door". Is this a prediction that he would be assassinated one day? I have no idea, but I'm sure he really did his best to complete his dream.
Welcome to 2009~~~Happy New Year

We went to join the party "Countdown Night" and we took KUO-KUANG to Taipei. Unexpectedly, there were many people who also wanted to go to Taipei. Originally, we could take the bus in school but when we arrived the bus stop, people waited for the bus long ago. We had no idea and we didin't want to waste time on waiting for the bus. Therefore, we went to the Hsinchu city to take the bus but there were still a lot of people there. We took the bus by the skin of our teeth. On the super high way, there was a big traffic jam, so it took us 2 more hours to get Taipei. Wheeew.... that was close.
In fact, this firework display of 101 was not good enough and I think last year's show was better than this year. Although I don't like being jam-packed, I still want to be with friends to celebrate the New Year. This is my first time to watch the show and it's also my wonderful memory. The firework is really gorgeous!!!
